Fentay Alamu-Maharat is a storyteller, cultural bridge-builder, and creative visionary whose work transcends borders, generations, and genres. Born into a rich heritage rooted in the traditions of Beta Israel, Fentay weaves ancient memory with contemporary resonance, giving voice to untold narratives through powerful prose and poetic insight.

Told through the eyes of a young Ethiopian woman navigating love, loss, motherhood, and migration, the novel echoes Fentay’s lifelong dedication to preserving cultural identity while forging new paths of connection and healing.
Fentay’s writing draws from her lived experience as a woman, mother, educator, and leader in global Jewish and African communities.
